Finally Vegan

I'm a long-time confirmed vegetarian trying the Engine 2 (E2) diet, which is a vegan no-added-oil/fat diet. Four days into it and I'm thinking vegan is my ticket! I've never felt so "right" about the foods I eat! Someone over at E2 recommended SparkPeople, so here I am to check out the happenings! My goal is to lose 20 to 25 pounds and keep it off for life. I'm an avid cyclist and hiker, and an occasional triathlete. I'm interested in connecting with other vegans and vegetarians :-)

My Goals:
I would like to lose that 20 yo-yo pounds for life. I would also like to start racing bicycles competitively in the Master's division. As soon as I unload that extra 20 pounds from my bike I could really be a contender! :-)

My Program:
I'm doing an Engine 2 and MacDougall hybrid diet. The diets are very similar, so what that basically means is I've gone vegan, no added oils. When I reach my goal weight I'll probably start using a few added plant oils, but I'm definitely going vegan for life!

Personal Information:
I'm from Sierra Vista, Arizona. I've always been a convenience eater and dreaded doing anything in the kitchen outside of moving something from the freezer to the microwave. Going vegan has greatly influenced a new positive relationship with the culinary arts.
