Thank you for the friend add. I have added you as well. Looking forward to getting to know you. Thank for the boxing gloves. We do need them at times. The the fight is worth it. I made my goal today. Now the fight really begins but I think I have a new friend who can get in there with me with the best of 'em. Have a great afternoon and thanks for your kind words.
Thank you for the comment on my blog from 09/19 - I'm so sorry it took so long to get back to you! I saw the comment when I was on my cell phone checking spark and typing it out is much easier than key pading from my cell.
I've been asked a few times if I think Insanity is worth the money, and if people should get it, etc, etc. I've really had to think about it, and the best answer I have is: yes - IF you're willing to put the work in!
This is the VERY FIRST TIME I have ever stuck with a program - ever. I own a lot of programs: P90, P90X, Turbo Fire, Turbo Jam, Chalean Extreme, Slim in 6 - just to name a few... and I'm sure that anyone who had success with those programs and were able to stick with them would tell me that it is worth it if I were to ask them before I purchased. But I wasn't able to stick to those programs. I wasn't dedicated enough at the time.
I LOVE INSANITY! I love the workouts so far (I haven't started month 2 yet, which is a whole new set of workouts!), I love how they are set up (warm up, stretching, and then you only have about 20 minutes left and a stretching portion at the end). I love the people in the video's (except 1 girl, but one out of several isn't bad) and how they really look like they are doing the workouts and not being touched up with make up and sprayed with water to look like they are sweating, etc.
But when I started Insanity - everything fell into place for me to be able to stick with a program. My family was away so I was able to take the time to explore the first few workouts of the program, get a routine going, enjoyed the energy boost, etc, etc.
If you're looking for a new exercise program to try, I definitely recommend Insanity. Anyone can do - despite what comments may say - I started it at 208.8 LBS and had to modify a bunch of things because I either couldn't do the move, was too tired to do everything jumping so I would do it stepping, etc, etc - and I've lost 6 LBS my first month, with modifications, my endurance and stamina has improved, I'm able to push myself more.
But the program will only be worth it - any program, Insanity or another - if you are ready for the commitment and like that type of exercise. Some people prefer dancing, or jogging, or swimming, etc. If fast paced cardio and resistance (with or without modifications, going at your own speed) is your cup of tea - then I vote go for it, and you will see fantastic results!
Thanks for your comment on my blog! Yes, I do feel fortunate to have a Pastor who is both knowledgeable and willing to deal with the difficult conversations and questions! Things become a little clearer in each class!
