I am a healthy 67 yr. old woman who keeps trying to improve herself and finding sparkpeople.com has been a Godsend. I live in Northern Canada by a wonderful lake which I can see as soon as I step out the door or anywhere I walk in town. Used to always spend half the yr. in Baja but DH has had a lot of health problems so I insist we stay home till he is much better. I love to read and serve my Creator. My husband is a second marriage and he is a good father to the 7 children and 10 grandchildren we have. I do well getting exercise and love healthy food. Where I fall down is on sweets but this site has made me more mindful of what I eat.
I would like to get control over what I do in my life. I want to have the time to create a healthy lifestyle no matter where I am, at home, visiting or enjoying a few hrs. of social time with or without friends.
I will schedule a portion of my time to planning my food and exercise, doing the exercise and preparing the food while leaving enough time for optional things. This will take a lot of pre preparing while in Canada as we live far from the grocery store.
My name is Gina and I live part of the yr. in northern Canada and part in La Paz , Baha Sur, Mexico. I am married to Charlie and have 2 dogs Chica (poodle cross) and Otto, a Rottweiler cross. I will turn 66 this yr. and have 7 children and 10 grandchildren.
My favorite books are A Tale of Two Cities and The trilogy Lord of the Rings. Mostly I love my Faith and will do anything to further it. Being a Bahai is the best thing to ever happen to me and I have such great expectations of humanity. While all the old guard is slowly disintegrating a new world is rising and it will be so much better. To me Spark is part of the new system which is all about truth and reality.
My Dad went to Vietnam 5 times, but it was always a top secret mission, so he couldn't tell us anything. It wasn't until I had grown and gotten out of the Army myself, and asked dad about those days, that he told me. I thanked God many times over, for keeping my dad safe and bringing him home safely, each and every time!
"The present moment is all you can control, not what happened in the past. Although you can't turn back the clock on setbacks and disappointments, your past does not have to define you."— Edward T. Creagan, M.D.

"You've heard the old procrastinator's turn of phrase, "Don't do today what you can put off until tomorrow." Well, the same goes for procrastination itself. Put if off until tomorrow. Seize the future you want by seizing the present you have. Get started now – not tomorrow, next week or when you get around to it. "Around to it" never seems to get here." -Lee J. Colan
"Never wait for the proper mood to start a thing, nor until the spirit moves you. Make your own mood. Make your own spirit. How? ACT. Do something – anything. Inspiration seldom generates action. Action always creates inspiration." -Author Unknown
