Imagine how things could be ... then work to make it a reality

I've been on Spark for a while now ... however, in the past 1 - 1/2 years I have been gone. A back injury basically kept me from doing any real exercise ... but time to change that. I gained back about 10 of the 17 pounds I lost. Not to worry though, I just need to get back on track ... here we go woo woo.

Now that I got the touchy-feely stuffs out of the way....I'm Greg.

I live in that other place. "Other" place??? Well...I mean near Portland. Not Portland, ...

Uhhh...not D.C....the other Washington...the state I mean. And while we're at it....let's toss in Vancouver. No, no...not Vancouver BC...the other Vancouver! Seeee...that "other" place.

I went on my first real bike ride since last year. I don't count neighborhood garage sales as actual rides.

It was a little over 15 miles, but I had to stop and hide under an overpass since a bad thunderstorm popped up. So not really sure on the time since I didn't have a watch. IT felt really good though- except getting soaked before I could take cover. Luckily it wasn't a long storm.

I hope your race goes well!!

We are smack in the middle of the move, temporarily homeless, heheh, which is why I haven't responded to your email yet - not a lot of computer time these days! Will write you probably when we're up north and unpacked!

Haha, I am so special I wrote the comment to you on my page. Go me. Here is it in all its misplaced glory- retped since the copy paste didn't work.

YOU are a WARRIOR! I am inspired just reading about what you plan to do! So if half the ride is uphill, does that mean the other half is all downhill?

Oh no! Another back surgery? (Well, there was your neck before, right?) So sorry to hear that but glad you seem to be OK.

Yes, oddly, it's been exactly a year my hubby banged himself up right into that wheelchair. He's fine - his leg still hurts on occasion and such, but they said that could take up to to years ... or, never. Yikes.

I'm doing OK too. My silly chronic pain has been decently in check (*knocking on wood*) except for a headache today, and I'm still rocking my Specialized! Man, I love that bike, even with my giant paniers constantly in tow (and in use! so many grocery trips!). :)
