I live in Iowa; I knit, spin, weave, sew. If it has fiber I am all over it. Except for quilting and baskets; not enough time in the day.

SparkPeople was off my radar for a long, long time. But after finding a new way to go I am using it again. In April 2012 I reached my first goal of losing 60 pounds and have been at maintenance ever since. Which is not quite true. If you talked with my coach I was maintaining. But I gained weight back. Right now I am not 160 but 200. It was four years returning but it returned and now I am working to take it back down without the program I used in 2011-12.

According to BMI and current weight charts (which are totally inaccurate and illogical) I was still counted as obese at 161. But right now I do not feel as good as I could. Sooooo, on the trail to lose what I have gained and perhaps go a bit lower to see how that feels.

My Goals:
My biggest goal is to limber up and gain more stamina. The fact that pounds drop off is an added benefit.


My Program:
I have added more walking; taking the stairs going up. It is bumpy going with being consistent with weights.

The hope is to retire soon (2014 did not happen-shooting for 2019) for a number of reasons: 1-more time with DB; 2-would be able to walk more and not be tied to an office; 3-fibre related things, creating, conferences, etc.; 4-be outside.


Other Information:
"Make it work" has become a talisman for me. Many times I want to walk away but Tim G's voice in my head will not let me and so I go back into the fray to try and make it work.

    Thanks for the bloglove. Funny how much I admire people who can plan ahead for the whole week, have almost no respect for my fly-by-the-strings-of-my-apron approach to cooking, except when there's an emergency and I am able to pull a victory out of my freezer, yet can't seem to change my ways. You'd think I'd just go do what I admire. I am much more of a plan a day kind of person - and maybe that's good enough. Guess I'm still working this one out. But, again, thanks for laughing with me.
