Welcome to my SparkPage!

This site continues to be a wonderful resource and great support. I lost 22 pounds using the Food and Fitness Trackers and working with friends from the Message Boards and SparkTeams but when I thought I could do it on my own, I slacked off and gained it back. In 2012 I discovered the "whole food, plant-based" way of eating and lost 30 pounds with no trouble.

I need to lost another 30 so I will continue to eat as healthfully as I can. To help me in my journey, I completed the Plant-Based Nutrition certification course at eCornell and am working on a Master's in Nutrition program.

My Goals:
My ultimate goal is to stay healthy and to be physically strong enough to do all the things I want to do.


My Program:
Whole Food, Plant-based as much as possible. I have learned that some flexibility in this regard can be useful, particularly when traveling.

Exercise is walking and work (I walk and lift a lot at work). Knee surgery limited other types of activity for a while but I'm that will change in time.



Personal Information:
I live in NYC and I love to travel. My husband and I travel as often as our vacation schedule and bank account will allow.



Other Information:
I have two grandchildren (1 girl and 1 boy).

I have been an RN for many years and worked in various areas (OR, Cardiac Critical Care, Labor & Delivery, Home Health Care, and Cardiac Research). Currently, I work only in Cardiology Procedures (cath lab, EP lab, echo)

    Deborah, thank you, thank you, thank you for stepping forward again. I remember your taking a partial leave and things went well for awhile. ATRANSFORMATION was trying to keep things together and then her broken ankle threw her for awhile. I did not want to see this team fall by the wayside and that was why I sent the SparkMail to the leaders.

    Hi Shoopette,
    Yes, I'm still "all fired up" about my new shoes and the great walking I'm doing. Still haven't gotten out my French notes and French audios to get back to my love of French, however. Maybe I'll get out my French songbook to prime my ears for some French listening!
