My name is Geri Gengenbach. I am 47 years old, 125 pounds overweight and tired of it. I have been overweight my whole life and have lost weight many times but never kept it off. I recently went through a very hard year with depression and gained 40 lbs back. I will turn 48 in November and am panicking about my health.(50 is right around the corner)! I'm afraid diabetes is around the corner and with my smoking, heart disease also. Being on meds for depression doesn't help with the weight but I can't make excuses anymore! So here I am. Praying this will get me back on track to getting healthy.

My Goals:
I just really want to feel better mentally and physically again. I want energy to get things done around the house and to be able to travel without being embarrassed. I want to ride a bike again and run someday and have more self confidence. I would love to weigh 145 pounds again!

My Program:
Logging everything I eat daily. I try to have foods as close to their natural state. Walking 40-60 minutes everyday and just joined the gym to start strength training. Try to read articles and learn as much as I can.

Personal Information:
I was born and raised in Nebraska and have lived in Omaha for 27 years. I have a wonderful husband(Mark)and we have been married 29 years. We have 4 children Addie,Hanna,Nathan and Sam. Life is always interesting around here. I have been a stay at home mom since the kids were born and before that I was a hairstylist for 6 years. I love arts and crafts but haven't done anything for quite awhile. After a long year of depression I am starting over and pray to God joy will continue on.

    It's come to my attention that you all may not be getting new post notifications from Bipolar Mania! Here is a way to fix that, if you want to. I'd love to see more involvement. Please check to see if you are getting Bipolar Mania! information. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Click on the orange tab 'community' at the top of this page. Click Spark teams. On the top of your list of teams it will say 'manage my team emails/settings'. Click on it. & You can fix which notifications you want/get for EACH of tour teams in there. Put a check IN the boxes of notifications you want from each team individually. Let me know if that helps.

    I would like to start some new threads & challenges so I'm looking for ideas & suggestions from members of Bipolar Mania! To help! I want to add games & other thing you all are interested in. Probably not weight loss/exercise per se because there seems to be plenty of that support in other teams. I'm hoping to be more about socializing 7 always knowing you have a safe place to share & offer help if you can. If there is enough interest in weight loss I will be willing to do that as well. Please send your ideas to me through a SparkMail if you'd like to participate!

    I'm glad you made the choice to recommit yourself to the program! One choice at a time :) I am not teaching. I am taking some time off to raise our children but am hoping to eventually go back to it!
