Next year the big 50 - this year 1/2 marathon

After a very long time I decided to return to Spark people. With the stress of being layed off from work and finding a new job it really took a toll on my body. Well that is over now! I started to take control of my life again and luckily meet a new neighbour that use to be a trainer for running room (store in Canada).
I am signed up for a half marathon on October 19th of this year and already doing 3 to 4 short runs a week (5kms) and 1 long run - working towards the final goal of 17kms. ...

I am signed up for a half marathon on October 19th of this year and already doing 3 to 4 short runs a week (5kms) and 1 long run - working towards the final goal of 17kms. The actual 1/2 marathon is 21 kms and the way I am feeling I will accomplish this goal then sign up for a full marathon next year :)

I would like to invite all to my page who wht to get fit and feel motivated. I don't let the scale judge my happiness but rather how I feel and look in my jeans ;).

This year turning 49 in September next year the big 50 - and I will be the healthiest I have ever been.

My Goals:
My goal is to look and feel better than I ever did when i turn 45 this year.

I want to lose minimum 20 lbs

I want to gain muscle and have great abs:)

My Program:
Running, running and more running.

I am training for 1/2 marathon so short runs and 1 long run weekly while increasing my run walk ratio.


Personal Information:
I live in Whitby Ontario - 1 hour east of Toronto - live with my fantastic guy Brad for years now - we have 2 cats Georgie and Rambo, no children.




Other Information:
I enjoy cooking, working out - travelling is a must every year.
Huge movie fan and trivia buff.

I have always had a healthy lifestyle no smoking and not much of a drinker.

Really saw what is important in life after my nephew passed away 6 years ago from a rare disease at the age of 81/2 (the movie Lorenzo's Oil is about his disease ALD).

I meet my guy 3 years ago and he showed me how it really feels to be loved.
He is the sweetest my considerate man I have ever meet and I am very lucky to have him support me 100% in whatever I do.

That's awesome you are signed up for a 1/2 in October...nothing like jumping back in eh? (That's "eh" like Canadian speak) :) I'm just west of you in Detroit and I hear you with Summer ending...although it's been a cool one this year, I have enjoyed it much more then the Record snowfall this past winter! LOl

Well you are lucky you just got back on or you might have been one of my casualties! HA! I need to clean it up some more, going day by day. How the heck did I accumulate 300 friends on here? my god! I dont' have that many in real life.

Good luck running...i'll be looking forward to hearing how it's going! I need to lose 40-50 pounds..goal is by next summer so I can enjoy it more!

Did your husband lose weight? Is he running with you?
