I want to stay healthy!

I am a rather private person, and I didn't even want to create a SparkPage. I'm not even sure why I'm finally creating one now.

I found Sparkpeople via a free phone app, and I joined this site to track whether I was getting proper nutrients in my diet. I then used it to track fitness and drop some "stress weight" I had recently gained. I find the articles, blogs etc. on this site to be wonderful and informative.

I don't tend to make use of the built-in SP "support group" system, but I can see how very beneficial it is for so many wonderful people here. I am also awed and inspired by some of the people on this site, like the lovely and brave ~INDYGIRL (do a member search!). What fortitude!

My Goals:
My goals here are really quite modest.

I actually have a fairly small / light bone structure (my wrist is under 6" in diameter). I feel more comfortable, balanced and energized in the lower side of my "healthy weight" BMI range. With the help of SparkPeople, I reached a better understanding of my intake and expenditure, and got back to my comfort level. Now I'd just like to maintain it and stay fit and healthy!

My Program:
I love my family, bicycling instead of driving, martial arts, walking my dogs, playing Taiko drums, and plenty of other things.

As for food, I'm a low-meat-consumption omnivore who loves vegetables and fruits, especially fresh berries. I deny myself nothing that I like, but I exercise portion control. Example: I still eat ~1-2 oz. of Brie and I like to have a Starbucks nonfat Chai Latte almost every day.

I rarely eat any "dessert"; a healthy meal is already so satisfying and filling.

I shun soda and rarely use sweeteners (NEVER artifical ones.)

I snack all day; small, healthy stuff. Part of not overeating is never getting hungry enough to do so. :)

Personal Information:
Stress eating (mostly due to the horrible economy and ongoing family emergencies) put on what was, at least for me, a lot of weight in the past couple of years. Thank you, SparkPeople, for helping it come off again, and helping me better understand how to keep it that way!

Other Information:
I am married, I have 2 children, and I particularly love puppies, of which we currently have 2. (Kitties are sweet too, but allergies are a problem. :/)

yes it is not easy esp. being a truck driver...even though im local i usually work like 14 hrs a day, and go go go, get paid per load so not much down time that i can stop and eat a decent meal. plus im diabetic type 2 and sometimes not easy trying to keep my blood sugar on even keel... it usually goes up then down too far... so i have to keep fruit and sweets with me all the time, for when it does.
so...not easy to lose the weight like it used to be along time ago.
