Frustrating to hit a plateau. I'm on one right now too, though, admittedly, I didn't help things today by judging an apple pie contest (which was deeply delicious, btw). However OTHERWISE I'm being pretty careful in my diet, and I'm running longer, harder runs than I ever would have thought I could... and the scale is sliding down in slow slow motion.
Everyone always says the last dozen pounds are the toughest, and I'm thinking they're right. I started at 255, and back then the weight came off with spectacular speed. Now it seems to take an enormous effort to get any closer to the goal.
However, life is good. And doing what I'm doing now beats what I used to be doing by thirty rows of apple trees.
Hang in there. With your running schedule the outcome isn't in doubt. 2200 days ago
hey there. I'm too lazy to actually make anything, the cleanup in the morning would put me off!
I just grab one of those Ultra Slim or Special K shakes they have in the diet/vitamin section in Wal-mart. I will admit they don't get me through the morning, but so far I've escaped cravings, where I would have had them previously.
Our steak/crab/martini dinner on Sunday evening would definitely have set me off before, so this protein combo is either tackling the hunger which sparks the (uncontrollable) craving, or it's evening out my blood sugar levels - maybe a combination of both. It took me 33 years to find something that works for me!
Hi, Gen! I read your post re. having a Protein shake to keep cravings at bay. What kind do you drink & what do you put in it?
My husband's family are all in KC. We have been in Colorado for about 15 years. Small world! Look like we are at the same point... I have put on some extra lbs., but my baby is 6! ;) Time for me to get back on track!
