Fall of last year, from when I helped my dad's company sell "old west"-style clothing and hats at a cowboy shooting convention.
I read Camryn Manheim's autobiography the summer before my freshman year of high school, and it helped me to accept my body and not beat myself up for being fatter than other girls.
There has never been a time in my life when I haven't been big. I was a tubby kid, a plump teen, and now I'm a fat adult! I've always been pretty at peace with my size, but in the last few years I've been gaining weight faster due to poor eating habits and sitting on my butt all day - and it's starting to interfere with simple things like walking in the mall or taking more than one flight of stairs. For a girl whose motto is "life should be fun", I realize now that I'm sure not making things fun for myself by staying at this weight!
I'm at 270lbs right now, the heaviest I've ever been - so let's see how much I can lose!
I would like to lose 100 pounds in the next two years. Somewhere around 175 is my goal weight, but I'd consider it a victory to only reach 200.
I'm going to the gym in the morning now, and I'm starting to eat healthier, too, by actually buying real food and cooking at home. Me and my boyfriend have already cut out most fast foods and sodas (we used to eat fast food 3 times a day and drink up to 6 sodas each!).
I'm Kelly, a 25 (soon to be 26) year old living in one of the greatest cities on earth - Austin, Texas! I have a townhome with my boyfriend of 4 1/2 years. No pets yet, but I really want some (I want cats, he wants a corgi...I'm sure we could do both!).
Aside from my weight loss, I'm currently working on an "adult-themed" romance novel. Writing has always been a passion of mine, and I've always wanted to work in this genre. I hope that losing weight will make me feel healthier and give me more energy so that my writing will be the best it's ever been!

I hope you had a GREAT birthday weekend!! :D I went to Wurstfest this weekend, and so this week I am dubbing Operation Recovery! I haven't checked the damage on the scale yet, but I'm re-doubling my workout efforts (aiming to hit the gym every weekday) and stay at the lower end of my calorie range! It's hard work indeed, but one of my new favorite quotes says: "Even if you fall flat on your face, at least you are still moving forward" - Sue Luke

I know, right? It's so tempting...I can already hear all of the fun-size 3 musketeer bars calling my name! And the worst of it is, I try to convince myself that because they are smaller in size, they are somehow "healthier." But I have done that every year I can remember, and I need to just remind myself that 1) it's the same candy that's available at any other time of year, just in different packaging, and 2) that's how I got to where I am in the first place! Anyways, I hope you had a great Halloween as well! Did you dress up? We went out Friday night for a little bit, but I worked on actual Halloween night. This is the first year I've been proud of myself for the amount of candy I ate, or rather, didn't eat!
