My name is Alissa. After switching from a very active career to being a full time student, I quickly gained 15lbs despite maintaining a regular exercise plan. Last fall I realized I needed someplace I could go to track workouts and my nutrition. I read about Spark People in a magazine and immediately signed up. Although my weight loss has been slow, I've definitely identified my biggest set back...over eating. So I am working to change that and the nutrition tracker has definitely been my motivator.

My Goals:
-lose 11 pounds by 1 May 2011
- maintain a healthy weight by implementing a more active lifestyle
- continue planning meals and avoid excessive snacking especially at night


My Program:
Currently I am using the nutrition tracker to record calories eaten. For a long time now I have been eating smaller portions at meal time. But I notice I snack a lot, so I have been curbing that by staying busy and out of the kitchen.
For exercise I have a daily routine. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I complete at least 30 minutes of cardio. I've recently started running again on a couple of the cardio days. Running for me is dependent on the weather. In winter and hot summer days I complete my cardio on the elliptical at home. On Tuesday & Thursday I complete at least 10 mins of cardio warm-up followed by a full body strength training session.

I love to garden. I am still a novice as this is only my second season of "real" gardening, but it has become my favorite past time.
