Thanks for your comment on my blog yesterday. I really like what you said about framing your experience as "I am having depression," vs. "I am depressed." I am going to apply some conscious effort to doing that as well. So, thanks again!

I play guitar. I've been practicing for our block Christmas party this Friday at 6pm. It's a pot luck crockpot soup dinner with live music (me and others) and a hay ride.

My husband had been retired for 6 years before I quit. Although he denies it, he was really pushing me to leave my job. After a few weeks of being home my attention was caught by a Hi & Lois cartoon strip.
Lois says, "I've been thinking about quitting my job."
Hi says, "That's a big decision."
Hi says, "Of course we'd miss the income but think of all the time you'd have."
Lois asks, "For what?"
Hi replies, "Cooking, cleaning, sewing, bookkeeping, yard work ..... "
As Lois grabs her coat and purse she says, "Thanks. You just talked me out of it!"
It still makes me laugh. But there is a critical element there. Really consider how you will spend your days - and then consider it some more.
