I was using Spark several years ago with very good results. Life happens and I went back to old habits of eating too much and a sedentary life and gained it all back. One year ago I had a major health scare with multiple small pulmonary emboli and decided I had to make major changes in what I was doing. I joined Weight Watchers and have slowly lost most of what I had gained. I had been a Curves member until the local one closed. I bought a Fitbit Charge HR on sale after Thanksgiving and it has motivated me to increase my daily steps from 2000 to 3000 a day to now over 10,000 consistently. I feel so much better physically and about how I view myself. I have about 15 more pounds to go to get back to my goal but I feel I can do it now.
I track my points on the WW site but I was curious how I was doing with calories and nutrients which I can't do on their site. I do find it easier to interact here with other members than on the WW site so doing both is good for me and keeps me motivated.
My insurance plan finally offered a senior program that I can use at a gym near me and I go there twice a week for strength training and social activities.

My Goals:
I want to be able to live in my own home as long as I live! Keeping active and strong will help me achieve that.


My Program:
I have been keeping track of my food intake for a year and exercising for an hour a day minimum using my treadmill, Curves and walking or working in my garden during warmer months.


I follow Weight Watchers and also track on Spark. My exercise consists of Wii activities and a gym in the winter and once summer is here I will be very busy in my garden.












Personal Information:
I live in northern Minnesota where winters are long and cold and summers are beautiful.


Other Information:
I love mystery novels, the movie Pride and Prejudice (with Kiera Knightly), sewing, quilting and pets.

    Curious to know what those "good tasting things that I used to enjoy" are. Maybe there are adaptations that can allow you to have similar, but healthier versions? There is SO much more you can have besides chicken breasts!
