I enjoy my life the most when I'm eating healthy and when I know my family is eating healthy too. Life is too short to spend days feeling terrible because I don't have enough energy or feel guilty from eating too much junk food. I want to make the most of every day! God has blessed me and my family with good health and so many wonderful friends. I just want to enjoy these blessings to the fullest!

My Goals:
My name is Jeannine and I live in Oregon. I love spending time with family and am thankful that I have the opportunity to be a stay at home mom right now. It's a special time in my life. My new healthier habits are giving me the energy I was hoping for to really enjoy my kids more. Life seems sweeter now that I enjoy the image I see in the mirror and know that I am continually working on improving myself and my family.

Some of my other goals for 2010 are to become involved in our new neighborhood community. My kids will not be attending the local school for about 2 more years but I still want to start becoming involved now. My husband and I have also made a goal of teaching our kids how to be active even when it's the rainy season here in Portland. We plan to take them on some fun hikes (rain or shine) and go indoor swimming. We also have started playing more active games with them on wii. I've also been dancing with the kids allot. They love it!

My Program:
Eat healthy and track my food everyday.

Drink 64-100 ounces of water a day.

Walk or do aerobics 3-5 days a week. Strength train 2-4 days a week.

Teach my family healthy eating habaits and how to be a fit person.

Lost 30 lbs in my first 3 months of using spark. Now I'm working on the last 20 lbs. I know they will come off slower and that's okay because the first 30 lbs coming off has given me way more energy and confidence. Also, I know I'm living healthier and teaching my family good habits. The best benefit I've noticed from losing the weight so far is that my joints stopped aching and my back feels much better!!

Other Information:
I have a feeling my journey of gaining wisdom and learning lessons is not at the half way point yet. I still have days where I make lots of bad choices and then I have amazing days where I eat so healthy and feel so energetic. I am starting to realize that on those days that I "binge" it's not so much about runing my weight loss for the week as how damaging it is to my day. On the days I have no self control over my eating I am negative, cranky, unhappy and have no energy or patience to take care of my children. My family and I deserve the best and I know I'm at my best when I'm eating healthy. It affects every aspect of my day and my life. So that's a lesson I'm learning right now. It's a good one. A life changing one : )

My friend and I are going to do the 10K walk in Run for The Roses, April 1st in Portland.
That's only 6.2 miles. But I normally only walk 2-3 miles at a time, so it'll still be a challenge. It'll be a good goal for me. During February, I will work up to the distance and in March, I'll work on increasing my speed.
I'm excited about it. Having that for a goal will keep me motivated.

I will be walking it too, not running. In May, in Olympia, there's the marathon and half marathon. There's no walking catagories, but you enter as a runner and can walk instead. That's what I'll be doing. My daughter will run it.
You can look on line for "half marathon training for walkers" and it will tell you how to work up to it.
I'd really like to find a 10 K one to walk first. I'm going to keep looking.
In October there should be the GirlFriends half marathon in Vancouver. They've already done it this year.
Yes we CAN do it!!! thanks for that encouragement!
