I enjoy my life the most when I'm eating healthy and when I know my family is eating healthy too. Life is too short to spend days feeling terrible because I don't have enough energy or feel guilty from eating too much junk food. I want to make the most of every day! God has blessed me and my family with good health and so many wonderful friends. I just want to enjoy these blessings to the fullest!

June 9, 2011 A nugget of wisdom I discovered in the awesome book "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren . . . "Character is both developed and revealed by tests, and all of life is a test."

My Goals:
My name is Jeannine and I live in Oregon. I love spending time with family and am thankful that I have the opportunity to be a stay at home mom right now. It's a special time in my life. My new healthier habits are giving me the energy I was hoping for to really enjoy my kids more. Life seems sweeter now that I enjoy the image I see in the mirror and know that I am continually working on improving myself and my family.

Some of my other goals for 2010 are to become involved in our new neighborhood community. My kids will not be attending the local school for about 2 more years but I still want to start becoming involved now. My husband and I have also made a goal of teaching our kids how to be active even when it's the rainy season here in Portland. We plan to take them on some fun hikes (rain or shine) and go indoor swimming. We also have started playing more active games with them on wii. I've also been dancing with the kids allot. They love it!

My Program:
Eat healthy and track my food everyday.

Drink 64-100 ounces of water a day.

Walk or do aerobics 3-5 days a week. Strength train 2-4 days a week.

Teach my family healthy eating habaits and how to be a fit person.

Lost 30 lbs in my first 3 months of using spark. Now I'm working on the last 20 lbs. I know they will come off slower and that's okay because the first 30 lbs coming off has given me way more energy and confidence. Also, I know I'm living healthier and teaching my family good habits. The best benefit I've noticed from losing the weight so far is that my joints stopped aching and my back feels much better!!

Other Information:
I have a feeling my journey of gaining wisdom and learning lessons is not at the half way point yet. I still have days where I make lots of bad choices and then I have amazing days where I eat so healthy and feel so energetic. I am starting to realize that on those days that I "binge" it's not so much about runing my weight loss for the week as how damaging it is to my day. On the days I have no self control over my eating I am negative, cranky, unhappy and have no energy or patience to take care of my children. My family and I deserve the best and I know I'm at my best when I'm eating healthy. It affects every aspect of my day and my life. So that's a lesson I'm learning right now. It's a good one. A life changing one : )

I'm sorry. That's so frustrating! But I'm glad you are turning it around. It's so odd not to see you each week. Will you be going on the hike tomorrow? Is everyone healthy?

Loved that it was sunny some of the time in Portland!!!
Walked from Powell's to Restoration Hardware on Saturday and wandered around. My ankles swelled up a bit after that, so I switched to the 5K (3.1 miles) walk on Sunday and decided that with my handicaps I'll just be happy that I finished that in one hour.
Next will be an 8K in May, then a 10 K in the fall.
It appears to take a long time for ankles to heal up.

Hi there- so I signed up and paid to do that walk...then I sprained my ankles, but I'm on the mend and hopefully by the 1st, I can do the walk. I've got ankle braces and I've got the desire and motivation to do it. So, we are going, I might not make it all the way through but I'm going to try.
