Single Mother Soldier

I am Active Duty in the United States Army and fighting for my job and life. I love my career and am trying to stay focused on the changes I need to make. I have been on the overweight program for 8 months and just showed a gain of 9 lbs after finally going off diet pills. I have until June 1st to reached the required weight of 174 and get off the program. I am on a 1300 calorie diet from a nutritionist but I need to stay focused and not get overwhelmed by my life.

Just wanted to drop in to give you words of encouragement. You can do this. The Army has ways of making you feel like there is no way you can stay in. All you have to do is show progress that is lose 3-8lbs a month and lose 1% body fat. And they can't kick you out. YOU CAN DO IT. I have done it after having 2 kids....YOU CAN DO IT TOO. I WILL BE HERE FOR YOU! STAY STRONG.. You are a woman I know you can do it! emoticon

You have dropped off the map with us and I am worried about you. I hope you did not lose your job and are on the road to some positive eating habits. If you ever come back to Sparkpeople, just read this and know that there are people that care about you and want you to find your healthy weight and enjoy life at the same time. I have dieted all my life and this one is truly different. I would have never thought that I would be content with just losing 15 lbs in 3 1/2 months, but I am. Now I understand that it is not about a diet. It is about making good choices each day of your life. If you do that, you will see the weight drop. Just a little slower. But who is in a rush...I have the rest of my life to be at a healthy weight. When the weight stops dropping, I guess that will be my healthy weight. Imagine that?? emoticon
