Hello old friend, sorry to hear of you health issues, but your Dr. is right get it taken care of so you can go on with life.
We are staying busy as well and seems like there is never enough time in the day to get everything done. Why in the world did we waste so many years being couch potatoes??
Hcg works for sure I am down to 118 and holding steady a few ounces up and down but staying on target, the key is eating protein, healthy carbs and fats. I am like you counting calories and eating healthy. Glad to see you post again and thank you for the comment on my efforts on making those quilts.
Have a wonderful weekend. Give the Mrs. a extra hug just for putting up with you. Chat soon. Sandy

Hi Sandy, Jibbie, everyone...

I've been away awhile re: work, Mexico trip and now health stuff that's totally unrelated to anything hcg wise or weight wise. As a matter of fact I've been maintaining my weight within 5 pounds of my end weight (225 lbs). Some days I'm above the 225 mark and some days I'm below it... still doing the low carb thing, counting calories and getting plenty of fiber and protein. I had to quit the treadmill until I can get my particular affliction remedied... too much pain walking on the treadmill. I'm hoping to get things "done" within the next month. I've put it off for over 4 yrs now and the doc says "no more". It's a hereditary thing and I was lucky enough to inherit it from my Dad... Oh well.

So, I'm going to try to get back into things here in the next month or so but right now I'm trying to get work taken care of so when I do have to leave for a couple of months I'm going to return to some semblance of order.

That's it in a nutshell. Thanks for your thoughts and concerns. Sorry I didn't respond sooner but I just wasn't up to it. Mentally I've been fighting a battle to "go there" and get this thing remedied. I finally decided it had to be done last week.

RE: the house! Well, we're moved in and 75% unpacked... probably going to be 75% unpacked 20 yrs. from now too. The back "yard" still hasn't been sodded by the contractor so I'm most likely going to seed it in the spring. Other than some contractor promises going to the wayside we love the house and the neighborhood. I'll post pictures after we get the yard and fence done. Thanks for asking!

RE: the naysayers... well, they're wrong! With me anyways. I went from 297+/- to 225 from a 42+ waist to a loose 34 and re: the weight, I'm keeping it off without really trying hard to keep it off. I keep my calories around 1400-1600 but have been known to splurge a time or two and like I said my weight is +/- 5 lbs of 225. My cholesterol is non existent and my bp is doing very well. My doc is happy as all get out (except this family affliction thing and me putting things off this long to get it remedied) and I'm still plugging along.

So, hcg AND Spark People have worked very well for me. SP will continue to work for me...

I think the key to the hcg is once you're done with the drops portion you need to really apply yourself to doing the maintenance portion correctly otherwise you're going to put a bunch of that weight back on.

I'll post a blog about this someday soon.

Take care everyone! Go Seahawks! Huskies! Cougars!

Thanks again,

Dennis
