Here I was probably around 185
This is one of my beginning pics - probably around 200 pounds here.
I'm a mom of 2 boys,Isaiah 7 and Devin 8, and a 17 month old baby girl, Avyanna. I've always had issues with my weight, but these last two years have been the worst. I'm a fast-food junkie and have a boyfriend that eats ice cream after just about every meal - and doesn't gain a pound! When I met him about 4 years ago, I was about 170. I guess I got a little too comfortable with my relationship and managed to put on nearly 40 pounds in about 2 years! How I did that, I'm not sure, of course, I am sure that I enjoyed every minute of it. Then I realized what I had done, and by then it was too late.
I've never been active - always hated sports in school. I also grew up in a house with a Dad who cooks like an angel! We ate whatever and however much we wanted, and then some. We were always told to clean our plates, and were always expected to have seconds and thirds. I never knew there was such a thing as portion sizes until I was almost out of high school!
I recently got brave enough to post pics of my before weight - those pics that you see, then hide immedietly so no one else can see them. They are embarrassing, but it's reality!
I managed to lose about 15 pounds on my own, but it took me about 2 years to lose that! Sad, right? Then I got pregnant in March of '08. I wasn't able to eat like I wanted to, which was basically everything in sight, because I was so sick. I started out my pregnancy at 195, and a few weeks after she was born I was at 185. Since I've joined SP two months ago, I've managed to lose another 10 pounds. Looking at those before pics, I know I never want to be there again. I was miserable, and my self esteem was non-existent. I even looked older!
I'm very dedicated to learning what works for my body - and that's hard work. It's hard to get passed my original ways of eating - because I want it, and eating until it hurts, but this new lifestyle is so much healthier for me, and I know that. I'm also setting good examples for my kids - and what kind of mother would I be if I wasn't doing that?
Trying a different approach this time. I'm setting small, attainable goals. I'm hoping that setting small goals, like losing 10 lbs instead of 40, will be motivating and will help me keep with it~
