Hi! My name is Danielle. August of 2008, I weighed in at 280 lbs. In January of 2008, I weighed in at 263 lbs. I am hoping that with a lot of work and dedication I can be at a weight I havent been since I was 13; 140 lbs.
As soon as I started going to school I began to put on the weight. I can look back at all of my school photos and see that after 2nd grade is when it all started. All through school I never really cared that I was bigger than most. I stayed right around 250 pounds all through high school. The only exercise I did was with the marching band, which was around 2 hours every weekday. After high school, little to no activity. My days were pretty much, drive to work (at a call center), drive to lunch and back to work. Then drive back home and sit on the computer. Same thing my husband (boyfriend at the time) did too. He wasnt overweight tho. Well around the age of 20 I looked at pictures of myself and thought, "man, i sure have put on some weight!" I weighed myself and I was at 275. Well it was a shocker, but I still didnt REALLY care. My husband and I were always eating out since high school, and never really cooked at home. Around the age of 20 I stopped working in call centers and my husband and I formed our own business. It wasnt any better for our bodies, because we sat in a truck all day, and still ate out. Well here it is almost 3 years later and I weigh 280lbs now and my husband went from 150 lbs to 220 lbs. Now, I finally decided that I need to lose weight, so I found SparkPeople. I have been with SP since September 2008 and it has helped me more than anything ever has. It has helped me realize how many calories I am taking in a day, what some healthier options for snacks are, and introduced me to new muscles in my body that I never knew were there. I did 2 sessions of strength training (total) and no cardio at all until January. All I did was watch what I ate and I kinda abandoned SparkPeople. January I weighed myself and I was 263 and realized that I needed SparkPeople in my life for good and this time, it was for the long haul! Now I'm back and actually doing the strength/ cardio and eating right as well. I woke up and I am officially under the 250lb mark! March 23rd 2009- Today I started my virtual bike tour! August 16th 2009- I joined back with Spark a full 20 pounds heavier (251.4 lbs). I updated my tracker to show my awful gain and to help me work back to being where I was before I "left". I will make it happen again! December 10th 2009- 274 pounds. That August thing didn't work out. I changed my plan of attack and set up some goals and am back on track again with eating better and exercising.
All my life i have been overweight and it's time for a change. I am going to prove 'em all wrong!

Stop Eating out 3 times a day. Cook healthy food from home. Eat healthy snacks. Drink lots of water, even if I'm not thirsty. Learn to love strength training and drag my rear out of the house to do some cardio. And, with any luck, sometime along the way my husband will join up with me.
