In the space where I can breathe...
I'm Melissa and came to the realization that I was simply too fat and was living a lifestyle that didn't reflect the real me. The fact that I started my journey on a whim with a group of friends is a miracle. I constantly remind myself that all my previous failed weight-loss attempts have led me to where I am today.
The Sparkpeople community is a fantastic place and I'm so glad I found a home here. I hope anyone else reading this page finds the same sense of belonging that I do.

My Program:
Sparkpeople! I am able to truthfully track my daily calories and my exercise...which was something I never did before.
In addition to the tools here at Spark, I use an elliptical machine for 60 minutes, 4 days a week. My strength training program consists of two days of weight training at the gym, followed by 30 minute cardio sessions.
To make sure I'm getting my calorie deficit, I use the BodyBugg arm band. I love that I know for sure how many calories I'm burning because my body has changed so much. The things I did before weren't really working anymore, so while I have to fight longer to burn the same calorie that I burned three years ago, it's refreshing to know it's gone!
