I have been battling the bulge for roughly 14 years and an excessive amount within the last 9 years. I certainly didn’t regain my ‘metabolism’ back after my first child let alone the three that followed suit years later =). As I got older the weight progressively increased and became more difficult to lose. At times, it seemed pointless to lose the weight… I became so caught up with work and family that I set aside my personal needs.

There have been a few things that have contributed to my weight gain over the years; however overall it was due to personal neglect and my poor relationship with food. I have realized that I continually placed my personal needs on the back burner.

With the battle of the bulge, I definitely had my fair share of experiences with a few diets over the years and the ‘As Seen on TV’ exercise devices… Yes, I did the Cabbage Soup Diet and at one time purchased the Ab Flex. I did have some success with Jenny Craig; however fell off as usual.

In the past months, I have seriously reflected on the need to change, especially since I was nearing my highest weight point again. I definitely felt that I wasted my twenties and the weight hindered certain experiences. Usually I am one to set the goals high, challenge myself and meet or exceed my expectations. However, I have not applied the same principle to my weight loss. It has been absolutely frustrating because it becomes a battle of the psyche; however I have refocused myself which isn’t to say I don’t have my moments. I embrace those moments, learn from them and move on.

Over two months ago I was fortunate to be introduced to the hCG protocol by my older sister. I admit I was initially skeptical with hCG; however became intrigued when my sister went through the protocol with success.

The hCG Weight Loss Program is based on Simeon’s Protocol. I follow the program administered by Mind Body Weight Loss which provides a Weight Loss Coach for motivation with accountability coaching. Mind Body is also teamed with Healthy Perspectives which is owned and operated by a Life Coach and Registered Dietitian along with a partnering physician (D.O., FACEP).

I began the First Round of the protocol on May 01st. It has been truly an amazing experience that has been transformative. I have learned through this process that weight loss is secondary and with successful commitment to my initial intentions (healthier choices/lifestyle) that the weight loss will follow. The program that I am involved in focuses on behavioral modification for long term solutions. This whole process has continuously challenged me and has made me address core issues. I look forward to applying what I have learned for continued success…
