another go.

After a tumultuous past five years of weight loss and gain, I'm eager to engage in a healthy lifestyle in the hopes of finally settling on a weight -- a few pounds lower than what I am now.

After a tumultuous past five years of weight loss and gain, I'm eager to engage in a healthy lifestyle in the hopes of finally settling on a weight -- a few pounds lower than what I am now.

Several years ago, I managed to lose over 20 pounds off of a healthy frame, landing me just below the healthy weight range. After seeking help, I regained the weight. The problem? I didn't stop gaining weight. I ended up on the other side -- just above the healthy weight range. I have wanted to lose weight for a while now, but it's been tough goings. Every time I get close, I get scared; is what I'm doing healthy? Will I be able to keep this weight off?

I want to return to a healthy weight (with some wiggle room for fluctuations). Now is the perfect time -- I'm starting college. It's a time to start new, healthy habits. It's a time to step away from the scale (as I have none here at school) and focus on healthy living and good choices and good feelings. I only hope I'm able to sustain it.
