Hello, All! I joined SparkPeople when I had over 90 lbs to lose, and now I am approaching half of the way to my goal. My Goals:
Arthritis has been a significant factor in my health all of my adult life. I want to become lean to minimize the pain and mobility problems, so I can lead an active and fulfilling life. I've also developed high blood pressure recently and hope to address this with diet and exercise, too.
My Program:
I have been eating more naturally and locally. I concentrate on nutrition rather than on being "on a diet." I eat a broad array of interesting fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. I also do moderate exercise such as walking and riding my bike.
Personal Information:
I grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and have lived on the West Coast most of my adult life. I was married for 19 years and recently separated, moving from the Seattle area to Eugene, Oregon. I have a daughter who is just about 18 and ready to go to college. I'm self-employed as a mosaic artist, eBay seller, and antique dealer.
Other Information:
I have many interests and passions. I have 20 years of sobriety. I believe in a Higher Power who helps me with all things. I love to travel, garden, do artwork, read, write, cook, and spend time with close friends.
