back following my wedding this summer. Weight has been yo-yoing between healthy and overweight for the last year and I really just want to be stuck in healthy!

So a year back from travels and I've put on more weight when I slipped back into old habits. Need to stop that now so that I can look and feel good in a WEDDING DRESS this summer. I've picked my dress and have my first fitting end of may/early june. By then I want to be 140 lbs!

Back from travelling - regained only a few lbs. New target for 2011 is to lose 20lbs to get to final weight goal!

So I've been travelling on my round the world trip for a little over three months now. When I left the UK I was hovering around 155-160lbs, and a little disheartened that I hadn't met my pre-trip target of 145lbs.

Well this travelling thing suits me obviously, because when we arrived in New Zealand earlier this month and I had to buy new jeans I found I was nearly two sizes smaller - now wearing a UK 10 / US 8. I hadn't notice losing any weight but I guess that my clothes were a lot more roomy. Then I had to find out my weight, and then when I found a scale, find another because I couldn't quite believe that I was down to 140lbs!

I am so sure that this is down to being active everyday, and not having the chance to eat out of boredom, or snack. Now that we are out of Asia and in cities again though we have started back into old habits, so I am being a little more cautious. It would be brilliant to return from this trip in two months still at this new healthy size.

So my excuses got a little out of control, until this weekend when I realised that I leave for my round the world trip in two months and I still have 17 lbs to lose to reach my target. I need this final push, otherwise I'm going to regret not getting myself into the best shape possible to enjoy the trip, and be healthy on it. No more trying, just doing.

In my hiatus from the site I have managed to maintain my weight at 157lbs, which is just 7 lbs off of my 'healthy' bmi. I'm pretty pleased with that, and it just reassures me that I can lose the weight and keep it off.

I have a lot of excuses, and there is no point listing them here because they mean nothing. I have taken nearly two months off - the first month I was still logging on but hardly trying, the second I was not logging on at all. Something about healthy eating must have stuck because despite it being easter and hardly gymming, I've only put on 2lbs. I am still a way off where I need to be though, so I'm seeing this as another fresh start.

I have a month til my birthday and I want to aim for 10 lbs by then. Which means I need to be back on the super-strict logging everything routine that I was using in Jan/Feb that WORKED!

Just over a month in and I've lost 11 lbs so far. So close to a stone! I'm feeling so much healthier. I've been training and doing lots of hikes ready for our round the world trip, and I reckon I'll be ready ahead of schedule!

My health issues have been symptom free since I started which is a first. Got an appointment with the consultant in three months, and really hoping to get a clean bill of health.

I'm actually enjoying going to the gym, and wearing clothes that haven't been out of the wardrobe in years.

Starting over. If I lose a lb a week between now and leaving I will be back to my healthiest weight of 140, which I haven't seen for a long while.

I'm aiming to lose at least two stone, which I put on during illness over the past four years. More importantly though I want to build on the strength that I have regained so far, so that I will be able to cope with hiking the Annapurna range in September/October.
