I'm a former college athlete who entered medical school and gained about 25 pounds. I started noticing a difference when my college jeans that used to be baggy didn't fit. Then, I was given a HUGE reality check when I finally checked the scale. My mom was using spark to help her lose weight and it seemed like a great idea, so....:) Wish me luck! (start date jan 4, 2011)

I started on spark almost a year ago...but have yo-yo'd mostly due to a lack of self control, laziness with my exercise and eating habits, and with some contributions from my career. Although that's not a great excuse, that's generally what I think has held me back. The good news is, at least its an honest assessment.

Now, I'm back to feeling unhealthy since my eating habits in the past 5 months have dug me into a hole....but the good news is, I am missing my previously active lifestyle and that's a great motivator and a first step in the right direction to digging myself out.... I'm really looking forward to being successful this year :)

My Goals:
fit back into my college jeans.

reach my goal weight by my birthday this year

complete another marathon or half marathon in 2011

to stay motivated to stick with the sparkplan past my goal weight

My Program:
accomplishing my "feel betters"

-using a strength training program 3x a week.
-running at least 3x a week.
-logging all of my meals.
-sticking to my calorie counts.
-being able to eat healthy even when i have to eat out
-trying new spark recipes

5lbs: pedicure (*)
7lbs: run a 5k
10lbs: a facial :)
12lbs: a new workout outfit and a pedicure
15lbs: get a mani/pedi
20lbs: go shopping
23lbs: a spa day with girlfriends
25lbs: get my hair done

Maintain goal weight-
for 1 month: sign up for personal training
for 6 months: new clothes shopping spree :)
for 1 year: take a vacation with my mom
