Workout Clothes

This is the third time I started this Sparkpeople process. Each time, I succeeded, but stopped. The longest time I kept going was a year and I got down to a size Medium in clothes, but life happened and people hurt me and I got injured and I stopped again.

First, I am walking this through with God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and I believe He will do the miraculous with me. I believe God can and will heal my mind and emotions and I am praying for it. I am believing God will give me the grace to develop better behaviors and better thinking and that He will give me the grace to succeed and to maintain that victory and to be more than a conqueror.

This time, I need to be real about why I stop working out and why I stop monitoring my eating at all (because those are the reasons I get heavy.) It is like I gave up each time when I felt hurt or rejected.

People hurt me and I numbed myself with food and stopped working out then. I end up losing confidence and losing a sense of having human dignity and value. That is one area that I have to take responsibility of and not allow it anymore.

Another weak area is Winter. Most Winters I found I stopped working out, because my main exercise is walking outside. That is the same time of year I eat comfort food in high quantities - like mac and cheese and pasta, etc.

To combat the Winter pattern: I joined an inexpensive gym and found Youtube videos and bought Walk Away the Pounds and a resistance band. The 10 minute minimum has to be a real boundary for me now.

Eating - I know that eating sweets or too many carbs of the wrong kind causes hunger and once I allow myself to eat unrestrained it only gets worse. I am trying to not "give up" on the eating end. I don't mind if I eat a cookie or ice cream, but not instead of nutrition and not quite so unrestrained.

My Goals:

To make small lifestyle changes that cause me to lose weight at a slow and steady pace.

My Program:
1) eat more fruit and veggies

2) manage my snacks - portion size and type

3) add in yogurt & smoothies

4) When I eat comfort type meals - watch portions

5) Planet Fitness 7 days a week -is my structured program.

6) My unstructured fitness is from youtube videos, resistance band workouts and will include walking outside in the good weather.

7) Pray and ask for the glory of God to be manifest - along with asking for self-control and wisdom and grace.

Personal Information:
I am a Christian, living in the Northeast.

God has done lots of miracles in my life so, now I am seeking His guidance and grace for victory in this area.
