Me in 2014
My highest weight has been 194. I am trying to focus on health more than weight, but my ideal weight, I think, is around 150 pounds. I've been vegetarian a long time, and I love Northern Soul dancing. Love films, art, and music. I practice mindfulness often. I am looking for spark challenge buddies.
To lose about 2 pounds per week - to learn Northern Soul Dancing - to travel everywhere one day.
I've not been very active for a few years, so I've seen some weight return and feel sluggish and old. My back and feet ache at times. On a new mission to get back on track! I like being active outdoors - hiking, walking. I also love DVDs and working out in my own home. I also love fast dancing - Northern Soul mostly.
I'm a true southern gothic weirdo, who happens to be a Mom of 2 - a teen in high school, and a recent college graduate. I am a Manager, an Activist, a Designer, a Photographer, a Humorist, a Feminist, a Progressive, an Artist, and an Entrepreneur type.
Movies: Northern Soul, A Hard Day's Night, Room With A View, The Philadelphia Story, The Graduate, Cocteau's Beauty and The Beast, Sullivan's Travels, Pirate Radio, Manon of the Spring. Activist docs like Cowspiracy, Earthlings, etc. I also love TCM.
Music: from old school Motown and Beatles, to the B-52s, Roxy Music, Cat Power to Miles Davis, Joni Mitchell to The Black Angels, Mahavishnu Orchestra to Elvis Costello, David Bowie to Shangri-Las.
Atlanta Radio: WRAS Album 88 (Ga. State college) and WREK 91.1 (Ga Tech college).
Books: Free-spirited groupie books like Catherine James', and Pattie Boyd's bio; other bios. I love books about the business of rock-n-roll, like Chris O'Dell's memoir.
I like Southern writers like Alice Walker, Flannery and Zora. My teen hero was Gloria Steinem! I love Howard Zinn, too.
