Hi! My name is Deanna, and I live in Michigan. I'm a vegetarian, a graduate (doctoral) student, a computer geek, a knitter, and an avid reader.

In 2009, I lost 25 pounds, mostly due to SP. Unfortunately, I backslid quite a bit during the first half of 2010. Stress from my wedding, combined with the stress of starting graduate school, proved to be too much for my newfound healthy habits. I recommitted to SP in 2011, but due to some health issues I had to really cut back on my physical activities.

Despite the obstacles in 2011, I managed to finish my MSIS (woo hoo!), and also managed to not regain all of the weight I'd lost before my POTS diagnosis.

In 2012, I will be refocusing on my health. I know that I can do this. I just need to remember: "Every day I am on the verge of making slight changes that could make all the difference in my life."

Overall, though, I'm just trying to be a healthier me. :)

My Program:
Mostly thanks to SP, I've developed some really good eating habits. I'm still trying to find a good exercise plan, though. One which will help me become fitter without overtaxing my body.

Other Information:
I'm always looking for new books to read - please recommend your favorites! :)

Hi Deanna,
Hope you are having a great Tuesday. Thanks for your kind words, I am hoping the dr does have some good news, etc. Though, he did tell me last time that his is not something that is going to go away wiht me, that I will have the rest of my life (which I am praying for miracle). He did say that we would try to find things that would make life a little easier but that is about all we can do. I just want me back, the OLD ME. :( He did allow me to go walking and I was excited about that BUT I haven't had any energy to go walking after work I go straight home and go to bed or veg on the couch until bedtime. I feel like I am sleeping my life away. I used to be able to get out of bed when alarm went off like nothing and now I have to put the alarm on an hour earlier b/c that is how long it takes my body to connect to my brain telling it to get up, when I can't even more I feel paralzyed. NO fun, funny the simple things we take forgranted.

How are you doing?

Hi Deanna,
My fellow Potsie! CONGRATS on finishing you MSIS! I am an avid read too mostly biographies, I love to read about people. I am people person.

I so totally hear ya about POTS and losing weight. I used to be so active, people used to call me crazy woman and how could I do all those things and not get exhausted. Well not no more. It's like I am a completely different person now (which I am not liking but have to learn to like!) emoticon

The doctor however has released me for WALKING only and ONLY WALKING for right now and I am NOT to go alone, someone has to be with me when I do this. Though, I am too exhausted when I get home from work to even walk to the kitchen for water, I go straight to bed. emoticon

This is a learning process, which is really hard for me b/c I am so independent.

Hope you are having a great Thursday, thanks for adding me as a Friend, I have added you too.
Maria
