My Goals:
To keep consistent, honest nutritional tracking to shave off winter weight gain. Again. And... to keep up the muscle!
My Program:
My training is Newtonian in nature: bodies in motion tend to stay in motion; bodies at rest tend to stay at rest. I am always trying to burn the fat and feed the muscle. As well, I'm always trying to create good habits and drop bad ones. It seems this process never ends. I value strength, softness, flexibility and agility in everything I do. I have tried many nutritional programs, and find that, for me, a low carb + 1200-1300 cal/day progarm works best. This year I am limiting myself to ONE piece of fruit/day to see if it makes a difference. I love to move, but get no benefit from logging the fitness minutes. Pretty much I'm active 4 hours/day barring illness/special events. I make sure to always include something at high intensity at some point in the day.
Personal Information:
As Alice Walker says, "hard times require furious dancing!" I love to dance! I dance whenever I can and hope to never stop. I especially LOVE TO TAP! I try to take a dance fitness class EVERY weekday. I'm trying to keep up the weight lifting, but find it's harder and harder to keep up the muscle as I get older. Got some joint challenges but doing the best I can. Trying to mix up the training as much as possible, to stay as fit as possible for as long as possible. I used to practice karate, but have switched to internal styles of bagua and taiji. I plan on being one badass granny :D This year, I am learning Taiko drumming and am grateful for the opportunity to be part of an amazing group of men and women. I love to HIKE, travel, read, eat, cook and play in the outdoors. I believe you have got to keep the JOY in everything you do because life is too damn short!
