In order to make it around for my family, I must put me first. It has been a very long time.
My name is Letitia, but friends and family call me Tisha. I am 39 years old, a wife of 20 years, a mother of four- three grown and one that is 13, and a grandmother of 5 month old Ella. I teach high school English.
Last year I had an accident that left me in constant pain. The disk in my neck between c6 and c7 vertebrate was injured and left pressing on my spinal cord. I had immediate surgery to fuse the vertebrate. I still have full function, but deal with pain that I have never felt before. I believe that had I been in better shape, this would have never happened. As it was, I am the one that would love an iv of Diet Coke hooked up to me...I could live on that stuff and I believe that this contributed to my bones very brittle and weak.
For the past four years, I have weighed in at 333. This is not the weight my body wants to be. I maintained the weight with a steady diet of Hershey candy bars, fried convenience foods, high amounts of all food, and no exercise. This is not the way I want to live, but I was stuck. My husband woke up a few weeks ago and stated that he was going on a diet. He got up and went for a 3 mile bike ride, drank a ton of water and started to watch all of his carbs. He got our future son-in-law going with a bet that who ever lost the most amount of weight in the next three months will win a shotgun that they have all been drooling over for the past few years. It took a few days for me to realize that this was my time to do this. My daughter jumped on board, my sister-in-law, my niece and nephew, my brother-in-law...all those I see everyday are onboard and we are doing this. I have lost 10 pounds in the two weeks we have been working on it and need to lose 124 more to reach 200 pound weight loss. I have found workouts that work for my neck and I am motivated beyond belief. I need to do this for me and for my family. My first grandchild Ella was born in Dec. She needs her Grandmother around for a long time...and my family needs me to be here for a long time. It is time to put me first.
To be able to look in my mirror and smile at my reflection reguardless of my size. ( I still like this goal)
I need to start from the beginning:
1: Track all foods eaten and stay within 1500-1900 calories daily.
2: Exercise for 30 minutes five days a week
3: Drink 8- 8 oz glasses of water everyday and stay away from any form of soda.
4: Get the right amount of sleep for me.
5: Remain possitive.
I am a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a high school English teacher, a love of good books and great food....I am a Mormon...
