I am going to be fit and healthy for the rest of my long life.

I have a desire to be fitter and really enjoy it when I do manage to get there but have trouble maintaining it.

My goals are therefore:
- to get down to a healthy weight
- maintain that weight
- get really fit and healthy so that in many many years time when I am retired I will still be really enjoying a physically active life.

I just had a quick look through your blogs, and the enthusiasm is almost tangible.
I love all the points and awards etc too. It just doesn't happen so much in real life though- "Hey, Mum. That was a lovely dinner! Have some points as a reward!". It's hard enough to get them to help with the dishes!!
Anyway, really good luck with it all. It's a journey I'm really enjoying, and I can thoroughly recommend the Spark way of doing things!

Thanks for visiting my SparkPage. I'm not sure I have any big tips on long-term maintenance yet. I've only been at my goal weight for about 3 months. In fact, I continued losing weight after my goal was reached, and so I had to get a bit more aggressive on my calorie intake the last couple of weeks. But things seem to be settling down for me... I think I'm slowly zeroing in on my long-term strategy. I'm definitely keeping up with the daily cardio workouts, and I still use SP's nutrition tracker religiously.

If I come up with any earthshaking revelations on the process, I promise I'll let you know. At the moment, however, I think the biggest element is sticking with SparkPeople. It got me to my goal; I see no reason why it won't help keep me there.

Looking forward to reading more of your daily blogs.

Thanks for your comment on my blog. That is a great idea about doing a "fictional" walk. I'm already thinking about where I will go next.
