The Show Must Go On
Back in 2005, during college, I joined Weight Watchers and went from 225 lbs to 160 lbs. What an accomplishment! Well, graduation came and went, and I moved to a small town in Western Maine. Now I teach music to students in grades K-8 and I teach BODYFLOW by Les Mills at a gym next town over! At Thanksgiving 2010 I met the love of my life, a fellow "foodie" and have been having an absolute blast ever since. BUT, I also gained back most of my 65 pounds. It's time to get rid of ...

It's time to get rid of that extra weight so I can start my new life with a bang!

My Goals:
As a Body Flow instructor, I need to improve my overall fitness to continue delivering the quality of workout my members expect. On a more personal note; many weight-related health issues run in my family, and I want to prevent those problems entirely.
My Program:
I cook with as many whole foods as possible. Meat is always a treat, not the main focus of every meal. I try to cut back on pre-made and over-processed foods, and trade them for quality, home cooked meals. I bake my own bread and make most of my meals from scratch. I find that, by doing this, I'm more satisfied and I tend to snack a lot less! I believe in butter bacon fat and 100% real food! I go to the gym regularly outside of my own class time. Currently, I take Body Pump and Body Flow by Les Mills, and I fit in a Body Step or Body Combat class whenever I can.
Personal Information:
I teach K-8 music in a small town in Western Maine. I am also Les Mills certified to teach Body Flow , a yoga, tai chi, and pilates fusion workout. I sew and quilt and spend every moment I can with my fiance...who lives 100 miles away. I love to share my recipes with everyone who asks. I don't really believe in "closely gaurded" secret recipes...most of mine come from books! So, if you're interested in what's going down in my kitchen, check it out! If you try something, leave me feedback! http://aristaslab.livejournal.com
Other Information:
I live each day with the belief that life is too short to hold grudges and dwell on negative things. I do believe that we make this world what it is; if we want to live in a positive place, then we make it that way. Each day is filled with new possibilities and new experiences, and we should embrace them for what they are! Words to live by: "Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice. Pull down your pants, and slide on the ice!" - Dr. Sydney Freedman on M*A*S*H
