I did exactly what you did, and at around the same time too! I woke one morning knowing that I needed to cut down the hours I seemed to be spending here on Spark People. Too much was being left undone, and those things were beginning to worry me. At first I felt bad for doing so, but after a week or two I had almost everything under control, was sleeping better, and didn't feel that I was dragging myself through each day. We all need some ME time in our lives, I guess. Hope you're feeling the benefit of your break away, as much as I am.
I've even decided to put an end to taking Sandra out of town to do her grocery shopping once per fortnight, which initially she wasn't very happy about, but after the past two weeks of shopping here in town at our two supermarkets, she has come to see how much time we were wasting, and how much quicker it is to shop locally.
It's wonderful to be able to pick her up, drive to the shopping centre, do whatever shopping we need to do, take her back home and help her unpack her purchases, maybe have a quick coffee with her before coming home to put my shopping away, in at least 90 minutes less than the out of town trip was taking us. Great to be back to supporting our local traders, rather than Aldi, who are a German company. With the harsh weather conditions here and very little rainfall, our local producers need all the help they can get to stay afloat financially, Most have been buying water for two or three months now as dams dried up long ago, which is just another expense for them.
I've focused more on meal planning, and trying to ensure the nutrient count of each day's meals fall within Spark Peoples' guidelines... a bit of a challenge at first, but now I find it has become easier. I'm aiming to be able to plan a full week of meals, and to compile a shopping list with enough of everything to avoid the need for a rushed trip to buy something I'd forgotten. That is my ultimate goal at this point.
My big dog, Ned, has been put on a really strict diet by our vet, he's only allowed 144 grams ( around 3.5 ounces) of obesity control dry dog kibble for each breakfast and dinner. He doesn't like it much, and usually leaves more than he eats. He is weighed at the vet's each second Wednesday. Last fortnight he had lost 1.6kg, which I'm really happy with. We go back next Wednesday, at which time his allowance for each meal will be reduced again. I was worrying about that at first, but if he isn't eating all he's given now, I can't see it upsetting him if he has a little less to eat. Fingers crossed the weight continues to drop. He has a lot more energy already, and his eyes are brighter than they were.

Sending you love, peace and blessings, my wonderful friend.
    Take care, and be happy,

Yes, we see deer semi-regularly. Yesterday, we saw one all by itself which is pretty unusual since they generally travel in a group. It is so awesome when we see them! emoticon
