Hi. my name is Francine and I need to lose some weight and eat healthy foods all the time as I am a diabetic and also a asthmatic. I never had a weight problem growing up( I was very thin then). It was difficult to accept all the weight that has been piling on this frame of mine. So I'm taking this journey to lose weight and get healthy. I'm 64 years young, would like to look better, I know I can do this, if it takes longer than I want---so be it, will hang in there.I like the saying, age ...

I will try to remember that its what you do for your body that keeps one younger regardless of your age.

Good Morning Fran,

Thanks for the comments on my blog.

As for the calves, some will remain here while others are sold to cattle farmers. We mainly keep females for research in fertility and reproduction and in our agronomy department (how well they do eating different feed - oats, hay, alfalfa, etc.). They live a pretty good life here and I always enjoy watching the farm crew interacting with them. I call Scott the "Cattle Whisperer" because they respond so well to him, and know he will take good care of their babies when weighing, tagging and looking after them after they are born. Friday afternoon 10 of the calves were playing in the sunshine, and it was so fun watching them interact and play. We weren't there very long, and the mamas walked over and right away the calves wanted to feed. Three more were born over the weekend. There will be 50 born at this location and another 120 are expected at our south farm - located about 7 miles from here.

Enjoy the sunshine and nice temps!
Leanne

Thanks for commenting on my blog Fran. I can't try to wear my shoes until he takes the bandage off. I am wearing a special surgical boot--no way I can get away with anything else right now. LOL I know I will love to take a "real" shower. ((HUGS)) Linda Kay

My dog loves to go outside, no matter what. Her problem is she does love the snow to roll and play in but her left hind leg locks up when she's in the snow & she can't walk so she just sits there and it's a challenge to get her in. She was hit by a truck seven years ago and it broke her leeft hind leg in two places and she's got a plate there so I'm sure that's her problem and she's just turned 13. We shoveled out two places where she could go and do her business because she was holding it and wouldn't potty because the snow was up to her nose. Thankfully those two places did the trick. Oh and she wouldn't go down the steps either because they were snow covered and you couldn't tell where the bottom one was, so I had to clean the steps off and then my son helped clean the sidewalk so she'd come down off the front porch. Dogs are so funny. Take care!
