Hi. my name is Francine and I need to lose some weight and eat healthy foods all the time as I am a diabetic and also a asthmatic. I never had a weight problem growing up( I was very thin then). It was difficult to accept all the weight that has been piling on this frame of mine. So I'm taking this journey to lose weight and get healthy. I'm 64 years young, would like to look better, I know I can do this, if it takes longer than I want---so be it, will hang in there.I like the saying, age ...

I will try to remember that its what you do for your body that keeps one younger regardless of your age.

Hi Fran. Your encouragement has meant so much to me. The surgery would be sinus surgery. The kidney stone pain has sort of gotten swallowed up in all the other pain I'm having.

Thank you for your kind comment on my blog, "In Memory of My Dear Friend, Little_Queen." The Mary Pickford quote was one of her favorites. Have a blessed day.

The cake I made was pretty dry. I was trying to substitute water for the milk as well as applesauce for the oil (I normally do the applesauce substitute) and just didn't get enough water in it. The new recipe book doesn't seem to thin the batters enough to begin with, so it doesn't surprise me that it didn't work out. It was still edible because it was done when I had to pull it out to add toppings or I probably would have burnt it. It was just strange it was moister the second day.

Hello Fran,
Yes the babies are doing well. I'm waiting for an updated picture as we speak.
What have you been doing this week? I spent yesterday making several kinds of kefir. Dairy, coconut water kefir and almond milk kefir. I should be able to make an educated decision with three right? LOL I placed an order for some kefir water grains. That looks super easy and from what they say it's like a fermented soda. I'm really excited to try these.
I also ran across something called Beet Kvass. I tried a bottled veggie kvass at a gas station near Duluth. It was pretty good. But I could only find the recipe for Beet Kvass. Once I try it hopefully I can figure out how to make the other one.
I took some pictures so I can blog it...
It's 15 degree's right now. First nice day....I hope it stays this way for a few weeks.
I'm up to 20 tomato's on my inside tomato plant...woo hoo..
Have a great week
Dee emoticon
