Hi. my name is Francine and I need to lose some weight and eat healthy foods all the time as I am a diabetic and also a asthmatic. I never had a weight problem growing up( I was very thin then). It was difficult to accept all the weight that has been piling on this frame of mine. So I'm taking this journey to lose weight and get healthy. I'm 64 years young, would like to look better, I know I can do this, if it takes longer than I want---so be it, will hang in there.I like the saying, age ...

I will try to remember that its what you do for your body that keeps one younger regardless of your age.

Hi Fran,
Your pickles/cukes sound delish. I just made some of my Grandmother Barnes recipes for refrig. pickles. It's the one with vinegar, sugar and celery seed. I however add more vinegar and water to make it less sweet for calorie reasons. I add onions and garlic also which wasn't in the original recipe.
Have you canned many of your soups and chili's?
I've been reading about how bad store/canned items are and how the metals are leaching thru into our bodies. That makes me really upset that they have allowed this to happen for so many years. So Now I'm thinking a person should make a jumbo batch when they make chili and go ahead and can it.
Sometimes I think there just isn't enough hours in the day to fit work into my schedule. LOL
I get off nights on Monday morning and hope to get lots of stuff done on my three days off.
Glad you got to spend some time in the kitchen on these rainy days.
The baby girls are doing wonderful. I'll message you my FB name and you can see there pictures. so very precious.
Hope your weekend is wonderful.
Hugs

I hope the winter is good for you. The Farmer's Almanac says it's to be very cold again but I haven't heard about the snow possibility. I am glad for many reasons we are beginning our trek in a little over a week. Spending a week in IA at the Clay Cty. fair and then to Branson to meet up with some SP in my RV group. A week there and then some travel before heading on down.

Hi Fran,

Thank you for the nice comments and suggestions on my blog. My mom does well at home and physically is doing well. One of out main problems is getting her to go out to the places she used to enjoy so much - church, visiting family and friends, shopping, etc. She is her old self when people come to her house, and loves cooking or baking for them. Most of her attacks come in the morning, and she is typically better by the time we get her to the clinic, which makes it difficult for doctors who don't witness the attack itself. Doctors and psychologists are trying to teach her self-help techniques to calm herself down.

Time sure does fly once children come along. I enjoyed hearing about your granddaughter's excitement at being taller than you. Passing up my paternal grandmother was the goal for all us grandchildren. At barely over 5' most of us did it at a relatively young age.

Have a wonderful holiday weekend!
Leanne

Yeah, I agree... music isn't needed during swim time. It would be hard to hear too. Enjoy that pool before maintenance!
