FOURFOOT_8 is a SparkPeople Motivator!
I decided it was time to update my Intro. I've been working on getting healthy since September 4 2007. I have reached my orginal goal of 120 and decided to reset my goal to 115. In the back of my mind I'm considering 110, will see if my body allows this. I had gotten off 3 medications and working on 1 more. My tryglcerides are now at 100! (use to be 608) As you can see I have reached my goal of 110 now and I'm working on a few more pounds.
I can't thank everyone enough for all thier support. I first want to thank my prayer teams that started praying for my health back in September 2006. I had tried to start a few times but finally got my head in the game in 2007. I thank my wonderful husband Tom who has been a huge support. He has bought me different things along the way to help benefit my workouts such as my inscribed IPOD with Matthew 19:26 "With God all things are possible" He bought me a heart rate monitor (he was tired of hearing, I wonder how many calories did I burn doing this, that lol) He purchased my wonderful bike shoes for spinning class which I am addicted to! I think he really likes the new meals I cook now. Thanks Tom for having my back and really loving me and putting up with me. I love you! I thank God for all my strength and determination to do what I needed to do in order to get healthy. I had worked with a wellness coach, Karleah, for 6 months and she really helped keep me accountable, Thanks Karleah! I thank all my family for their support, my daughter Alyssa who has understood why I need to workout after work and has helped with dinners as well. My family has been behind this lifestlye change and thanks to my daughter Sarah who has taught me to enjoy Tofu! Thanks Mom and Dad for all your support as well and being proud of me for a job well done. (Thanks SparkPeople, friends who have supported me as well)
I finally have learned not to eat out of emotions. I use to get down and eat whatever I could get my hands on...like a box of hoho's yeah in one sitting sometimes. I ate to suppress feelings, or ate to celebrate just because I felt like I deserved it. I realized I need to eat to fuel my body. Food is energy needed in order to get through my workouts, get through my day. I don't eat empty calories. I have learned to choose a healthy lifestyle.
I am hoping to be able to teach others in order to follow God's word for our lives. God knows the plans He has for us and He now is implementing plans for my life. I can't wait to show others that being healthy is in His best interest. I am facilitating a bible study in fall "First Place" So please pray for my ladies as they begin their journies.
On June 19th,2008 I had a chance to tell my success story at a wellness journey lunch hour in front of a large group. Here is my bio that will be printed up in a bulletin:
"Journey 2 Wellness is an opportunity to hear other DA Healthy Living Center member’s personal wellness stories. These stories can help motivate you to keep moving forward on your wellness journey.
On Thursday, June 19 from noon – 1 p.m. come meet two women just like you who have overcome obstacles to improve their wellness.
Pam M. had taken several rides on the weight roller coaster, but it wasn’t until her doctor informed her she would need to go on a fifth medication for her long list of health concerns that she decided to take measures into her own hands.
On your wellness journey, you do not have to travel alone. Surround yourself with people who can inspire you to reach your full wellness potential."
This has really been a wonderful journey of blood, sweat & tears! I have gone from a size 16/18 size pants 162lbs + to a Junior size 1/2 how exciting is that! Please keep me in your prayers as I continue to learn more and strive for success in all that I do
I had reached many of my old goals and thought it was time to update and make new goals.
I now am at a healthy weight and have plenty to be thankful for, but also know I must continue to set goals in order to be accountable and stay on track.
I plan on continue to lead a weight loss bible study "First Place 4 Health" at my church and help others achieve success in their journey's and support them the best way possible.
I need to stay in God's word so that He can continue to direct my path.
I plan on working out 5-6 day's a week (1 hour) and burn somewhere between 300-400 calories.
I plan on continuing to weight train 2 to 3 x's a week. I really see the benefits of this now and like my new toned body.
I plan on running at least 3 running races this year....June 14th is my first 5K of the season.
I also am training for a 1/2 marathon on May 28th, 2010

I workout M-Saturday for an hour at a time. I try all different machines and enjoy working out on the arc trainer, Elliptical machine, and running on the track while at the gym. (Outside when it's nice out) I am now in training for a half marathon and now need to run at least 3 days a week. I had been training with a personal trainer however i'm doing it on my own now...
I have done spinning classes on Saturday mornings and I get laps in the pool on occassion as well. I do whatever it takes to keep my body guessing and change my workouts to keep it fun and interesting.
I really love all kinds of Christian Music from hard rock to worship music. My favorite bands our Flatfoot56 (www.flatfoot56.com) which is celtic, punk, rock and yeah Christian! Toby Mac and Chris Tomlin, Skillet, & Newsboys!

Love your up dated story. I have held you in prayer also along with others. I am so proud of you as if you were a daughter how you have achieved but seeing I am not your Mom. I am a believer in you.
God is using you mighty for others. He still is working on you to make you who he wants you to be. That Christian Praise song is loud and clear.

Nice to see you again! I guess what I am doing is body building... It's what I've been doing all along, pretty much.I just raise weights as I feel ready and find new ways to challenge myself!
