Falling into the 2014 Fall 5% challenge with Panther Pride

My name is Jennie and I been a part of Sparkpeople since May and have found it incredibly supportive and helpful. I joined after gaining about 40 lbs over a year as a consequence of untreated depression and was finally motivated to get physically and mentally healthier and am so happy I was.

I loved being a part of the 2014 5% Summer challenge and it helped me so much - now I can't wait for the Fall challenge to start as I have been slacking a bit since the summer challenge ended.

My goals for the fall challenge are to meet the 5% loss and to stick to my nutrition (count calories and portion control and eat mostly natural food) and exercise plans (Boot camp 3x/week, walk, run, strength lifting, Pilates and Jillian Michaels)

I am ready - have plenty of recipes and cleaned out my pantry and kitchen and have all my exercise gear!

My Goals:
My goals are to get healthier, eat better, lose weight and feel good about myself.

Short term goal - to reach 155lbs (or less) by 11/27/14 when we go to Toronto to celebrate my husband's great grandmothers 100th birthday! The last time I was there (3 years ago), I felt very unhealthy and want to go this time feeling good about myself. Let's see what I can do in 135 days.

Long term goal (hopefully by next summer): feel good enough to put on a bathing suit and go in a pool with my sons (COMPLETED this summer) and take more pictures of myself with my kids (still working on this).

My Program:
Eating much healthier and committing to exercise

Personal Information:
I am a 42 yo physician (currently not practicing) with a wonderful husband and two beautiful boys who I am now staying home to take care of. It has been a long, long time since I made myself and my health a priority and I am committed to it now!

Love your body

Having confidence and positive mental health about your body is a great way to stay motivated about your workout regimen.

So, silence that inner critic and donít be afraid to strut your stuff at the gym.
