My name is Kaitlyn. :] I'm nineteen and I'm a college student (sophomore), studying English and secondary education. I'm one of the biggest book nerds you'll know. (My favorite author is Jane Austen.) I am a Christian. God is important in my life, and Jesus rocks. I'm also a dancer, though I had to quit several years ago due to a big move and lack of time. I still love to dance, particularly ballet. I write in my free time. I typically don't like shopping and don't pay much attention to fashion (though I have a feeling I would enjoy it more once I lose the weight), but I LOVE purses. :]
I have always struggled with my weight. I started thinning out in seventh grade and didn't really worry about my weight until my junior year of high school. During the summer of 2009, I weighed around 145 pounds. As I began my school year, I started to feel stressed. To relieve that stress, I ate more than I should. I gained about 15 pounds and then was diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) in October 2009. I started working on my weight loss as of June 7, 2010 and was able to lose about 10 pounds. I went up and down in my weight. When I began college, that's when I lost control of my food and didn't exercise as I should have. As a result, I gained about 20 pounds and reached the highest weight I had ever been: 183 pounds.
I'm here because I want to lose about 50 pounds. I want to feel better about myself and feel more confident. I want to be able to wear the clothes I've always wanted to wear and to be more fashionable. I want to look terrific in my wedding dress one day. I want to be healthy and fit!
As of August 9, 2012, I weighed in at 179 pounds.
