Freedom over 60

I am now 61 years young, mother of 3, and proud grandmother of 11 and 1 beautiful great granddaughter. At this stage of my life my goals are very simple: to be healthy, able to help my children when asked, and be able to enjoy what the Lord has given us.

My Goals:
Short term goals:

I would really like to be able to wear my smaller clothes, some of which are brand new.

Goal weight:

12/01/2014 - 159 lbs

Long term goals:

Be able to climb stairs wherever I go and do it with ease.

Participate in a walking challenge.

Goal Weight:

5/12/2015 - 135 lbs.

My Program:
Drinking 10 glasses of water every day.

Staying within my calorie and nutrition range using the Spark trackers.

Currently using a stair stepper, using weights, and doing seated core exercises.

Personal Information:
11/10/2014 - 61 Years old, semi-retired,and I love the Lord above all else. I have a 6 year old female German Shephard named Annabelle, a 5 year old female mixed lab named Babyface, and a 3 year old female Norwich Terrier named Tuffy. Since my children and grandchildren live several hundred miles away, my "girls" are my children, and they are very spoiled.

Other Information:
I love to cook, any and all kinds of cuisine, and I am known for my food. Anytime I can cook for others, whatever the occasion, I take advantage and cook up a storm. I am able to cook without blowing my nutritional goals (for now anyway, I have not been asked to cook my pies yet, that is when I get into trouble). And I love reading about new cooking techniques and food combinations. I am really into learning how to cook more healthy foods without losing the flavors.

You have it in you

When you feel like quitting, that’s an opportunity to keep going. When you feel like giving up, you have it in you to step forward with renewed energy and to give more.

Giving up doesn’t accomplish anything, and it doesn’t make you feel any better. It just leaves you with disappointment and regret.

There’s a way to keep going, and you know it. There’s a way to keep going, and just imagine how great you will feel for choosing persistence.

If you’re weary, stop for a short while to rest, but don’t give up. Remind yourself of all the good reasons why you’ve chosen to move forward, and then get yourself going again.

If you wish to be free of the effort, then do what it takes to finish the effort. Make all your work count for something by bringing it to a successful conclusion.

The next step is right in front of you, and you have it in you to take that step. Keep going, fulfill your best possibilities, and you’ll always be thankful for your choice to do so.

Thank you for stopping by! Yes, I am feeling stronger every day, although tired too. I'll be back at work on the 22nd, so it gives me a bit more time to recover. I hope you are having a good week!

“The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life; and the procedure, the process is its own reward.” (Amelia Earhart)
