I have been gallivanting around from my home to the coast since May and I have been loving it but not loving all the work that I leave behind to do when I get back! At my house, work has a life of its own and manifests itself in the form of yard work, garden care, dust, laundry and neglected pets; well, the pets think they are neglected but our son looks after them when I'm not here.
I just wanted to let you know that I haven't fallen off the earth; I'm still here or there, but mostly "there" until this fall probably.
Meanwhile I hope you have a lovely holiday and summer and don't work or play too hard.
I've been really busy and enjoying the festivities of the Easter season (which is my favorite holiday by the way) and now I'm about to get ready for some over night company that will be here in the early afternoon tomorrow then we will be getting ready to go to the coast for some fun and relaxation. When the sun comes out...I go out! It's great!
How about you? Have you been busy or are you getting ready for BBQ season/summer which will be upon us very soon now!
I read that persimmons have high levels of fiber, potassium, magnesium, calcium and antioxidants which are all super weapons against atherosclerosis! Who knew?

Hi again! You know me; I've been reading again... I just read that a spoonful of cooked black rice packs the same amount of anthocyanins as a spoonful of fresh blueberries, but with less sugar and more fiber and vitamin E. I'm not sure that rice is a fruit substitute in that case though; I'll have to give that some food for thought! I'm waiting impatiently for the spring sunshine to come; I know it's out there somewhere, it just hasn't broke through our continual thick cloud cover yet.

It said that when you're feeling groggy or foggy to sniff ground sage for an energy boost. Research showed that sage aroma suppresses the enzyme acetylcholinesterase that prevents the brain's ability to feel alert and happy! Not only that, but aromatherapy experts say sage can improve mental focus AND memory!
My personal suggestion is...fresh ground or a good brand of coarse ground sage. The cheap stuff is very offensive to my nose.
