Getting ready to "tri"

I've committed to getting this last 30 pounds off once and for all!

Started triathlon 3 years ago after being a couch potato for most of my adult life. My whole family - husband, 2 sons, daughter - are involved in triathlon, cycling and/or running so it's pretty hard NOT to participate. The last 2 years I've experienced some health set backs and I'm ready once again to get back to training.

I really REALLY do not want to have to do this again ... so let's go!

My Program:
Run 3x/week
Weights 2x/week
Swim once/week

Until May1 then move to:

Run 4x/week
Bike 3x/week
Swim 3x/week

Personal Information:
Artist and would-be triathlete living in rural Nova Scotia with my husband of 27 years, daughter, 1 cat and two sons at large!

Other Information:
I think triathlon is THE best sport. The people are SO friendly and the "you can do it" spirit, no matter your level keeps me inspired. What other sport, afterall, do you have the world champ, hanging out at the water station in the wee hours of the morning after having won his race hours ago?!?

It has been a long time since I have seen you on here. Nice to see you again. Last year my focus was on running and nothing else. I did buy a road bike (from canadian tire - nothing on the grand scale of things) fitted it with clipless pedals and I did cycle with a beginners group a few weeks during the summer. SO a duathlon is more than likely in my future - even if a tri isn't. In Bridgetown (or some place in the valley) they have a "try a tri". If I do a triathlon that is the one I am going to start with. I could go on and on, but I will spare you...really it was nice of you to drop in. I hope to see you again soon. Have a great New Year. gail

Hi Jen!
I would love to hear more about Nova Scotia--I have always been interested in visiting there.

Keep up the training--every step is a step in the right direction! (Wow. I sound like a bumper sticker! LOL)

You're doing GREAT!! Hang in there, the weight loss will come. And when it does, you better send some of it my way. ;-)
