Currently live in Illinois moving to Anchorage, Alaska in April. My "lottery dream" has always been to live half the year in Alaska and half in Hawaii. DH and I decided to quit waiting for the lottery win! We're moving to Alaska for now and plan on transitioning to a split lifestyle as we approach retirement. One step at a time!
I am always a work in progress!
I understand the nerves. That's why I race every chance I get (from 5K to HM). Familiarity breeds comfort (okay, so I changed it up a little) - but it really does help. You are going to do great! My sister (who is 60 with arthritis) had never actually run a race, just a few shorter walks for charity. Last Monday she ran/walked the BolderBoulder 10K when I did. It was AMAZING to see her accomplish that feat. It wasn't easy and incredibly scary for her, but it is something she will always have. She's even talking about future 5Ks.
