Recovering Fast Food-aholic

Where have I been the past 3 years? Eating. Eating lots of fast food. Every. Day.

The following is not an excuse, but an account of what led to my obesity.

For many years following the birth of my 2 children I was comfortably overweight. I was not healthy, but my weight did not impact my daily life. I fit in seats that had armrests. I could easily play a game of tag.

April 29, 2010 I made a fabulous decision to quit smoking. I did a great job ...

For many years following the birth of my 2 children I was comfortably overweight. I was not healthy, but my weight did not impact my daily life. I fit in seats that had armrests. I could easily play a game of tag.

April 29, 2010 I made a fabulous decision to quit smoking. I did a great job exercising when I first quit and used the money saved for a membership at the Y. That lasted about 9 months. Then I quit the Y.

Then I had $5 a day that I was not using for cigarettes and I was not using for a gym membership. I started treating myself to fast food.

Between 2011 and 2013 I gained an average of 20 pounds a year.

ENOUGH.

I am no longer going to support the fast food industry. I am no longer going to be uncomfortable in my own skin.

I am breaking up with fast food. I am in a new relationship ... with myself.

I loved the little smiles too. in the winter I try to keep myself thinking of sunny warm thins to get me through to at least spring......
