Hi, I'm Lisa. I am a physical therapist and mother of a 9 year old little girl. Although I do not disgrace my profession based on my looks and eating habits, I could definitely set a better example. I do try to instill in my daughter the importance of healthy food and exercise (not that the exercise part is a problem for her because she NEVER stops!). I am trying to set a better example for her and want to be able to keep up with her for many years to come. I want our relationship to be developed around getting out and doing things, not sitting around in the house watching tv and eating junk. I hope that her endless energy will forever be a part of her and spur me into more activity, keeping us on a healthy road throughout our lives. Hopefully, we can get and keep her daddy on this road as well, keeping us together as a family. Like most of the people on this site, I of course have battled with my weight a good portion of my life and am tired of it. Hopefully, this is the end of that and the beginning of a lifestyle change. Although I still plan on enjoying my food, I don't ever want to look up again to find that I can't wear any of my clothes and need to lose 30-40 pounds. Although my honey loves me no matter what, I don't love myself when I get like that. And I never want to feel like I don't love myself. Plus, if I love myself, that will help my daughter to know the importance of loving herself. I don't ever want her life to be defined by food. Now I know my size shouldn't determine my self worth. And it generally isn't my size that does it, it's the loss of energy, the lose of desire, and the way that food starts to consume my life that does it. The food taste great, but I manage to lose myself in the food and it shows by the loss of concern regarding my health and appearance. No longer will food define who I am rather than letting it be simply the source of energy for my body, so I can define my self based on my actions....my contributions to my daughter, my family, my life's work, my self. This is the first step towards a meaningful rest of my life......I've caught the SPARK. CARPE DIEM.

    Are you interested in a Challenge?

    The Biggest Loser goes for 10 weeks. It consists of 10 teams participating in weekly Fitness and Nutrition challenges. The Spring challenge will be getting started the beginning of March. It consists of fitness and nutrition challenges that are often in a form of a game. If for some reason you cannot do a challenge then they are modified to meet your needs. Often we do the challenge in a game form, we have BINGO and TIC TAC TOE or seasonally themed. For Winter we had Help Santa Fill His Sleigh, Run Rudolf Run and Super Bowl.     Thanks for commenting on my blog, Identifying my Larger Goals. First, the encouragement is much appreciated. Second, I hear what you're saying regarding poor eating. I experienced the same thing this winter. I had lost 20 lbs over the summer and into the fall. Then winter hit and it was a long bitter winter. Usually I'm good with cold but the wind was horrendous and I didn't get out walking. Coupled with that, Christmas eating came on strong. At first I was lucky and it didn't reflect on the scales. But after Christmas I was shocked to see I had gained back almost 10 lbs. In total I've regained almost all the weight and am starting over. The good news is, we keep the knowledge we gain from the lessons learned :) Keep sparking friend - have a great weekend!
