All I need is the "S" on my chest!
A family member took pictures at a Thanksgiving gathering and even though in the back of my mind, I knew I had been gaining weight, it didn't set in until I saw that picture that I needed to lose weight and get in shape. I started my weight loss program on January 5, 2009 and am well on my way to being fit in 2010 and beyond! What I am DONE with or in the process of being DONE with: 1) Being severely obese (BMI was 1 point away from being morbidly obese) - DONE!!! 2) ...

I started my weight loss program on January 5, 2009 and am well on my way to being fit in 2010 and beyond! What I am DONE with or in the process of being DONE with: 1) Being severely obese (BMI was 1 point away from being morbidly obese) - DONE!!! 2) 25lbs. - DONE!!! 3) 50lbs. - DONE!!! 4) The 200's - DONE!!! 5) Obesity (BMI) - DONE!!! 6) 75lbs. - 7) Overweight (BMI) - 8) Dieting (and begin maintaining when I reach my goal weight) - Inspiration: Isaiah 40:28-31 (New International Version) - One of my favorite inspirational scriptures from the Bible; and I just realized it could have an application to health/weight loss/exercise: "Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

My Goals:
Short Term Goals - 1. To be in Onderland/lose 50lbs Expected Date: By April 30, 2009 When met: I forgot!!! (ooops) It was around the first week of May. *NEW SHORT TERM GOALS* 2. Move from an obese BMI to an Overweight BMI EXPECTED DATE: by the end of August When met: August 1, 2009!!!! 3. Lose a total of 75lbs EXPECTED DATE: January 2010 *LONG TERM GOALS* 1.) Wear a size 10 or less 2.) Have a healthy BMI weight (about 159 lbs.) *REWARDS* 1. Losing 50 pounds/Onederland - New laptop: Got it in May 2009 2. Overweight BMI - Trip to the spa 3. Losing 75 pounds - A Wii and a Wii Fit 4. FINAL REWARD (for long term goals): Cruise to Jamaica
My Program:
I am on a maintenance program now - I just eat healthy, watch my calorie intake and what and how much I am eating. And I try to exercise at least 5 times a week!
Other Information:
"How do you go from where you are to where you want to be?" Jim Valvano I would answer, especially in the case of weight loss - a lifestyle change. In order to maintain any weight loss and truly lead a healthy life, a lifestyle change must occur. Healthy, clean eating; exercise; and wise choices have to be incorporated into your life. Then the fruit of your labor will remain with you throughout your long, healthy life!!!
