I'm a 32 year old mother of four and my first weigh-in was 285 lbs. That was November 2011. When I first went through and set up my introduction text I had no idea how finding this site would impact my life.

More has changed than just the scale. The contents of my kitchen are unrecognisable, my husband and kids complain that I never have anything to 'snack on" in the house now, and I'm more likely to buy low calorie, whole grain bagels and low fat cream cheese than cookies, ...

The contents of my kitchen are unrecognisable, my husband and kids complain that I never have anything to 'snack on" in the house now, and I'm more likely to buy low calorie, whole grain bagels and low fat cream cheese than cookies, crackers, ding dongs, or candy even if I go to the grocery store hungry. I'm slowly changing everything I do. I'm even keeping my kitchen cleaner so there's no mess between me and the making of a healthy meal.

At first, I just wanted to lose some weight and be done with it. Now I can see the life I used to live when I was fit and healthy as something attainable and I'm beginning to live there now, not in some nebulous future, now. We go to the park just to throw balls and a Frisbee around, we all pack up and walk around the block just to walk, and even though my kids still complain about a lack of 'snack foods,' they're gobbling the fruit and veggies I keep on hand faster than I can restock the fridge.
