Hi Christy,

Just stopping by to see how you're doing and I can see in your picture that you are looking great!!

I've had a rough few months. I found out in May that my cancer had spread to my bones and it was back in my liver again. I started on chemo. During May my hip hurt so bad that I couldn't drive or go to work, or barely walk -- I had to use a walker. I took 10 shots of radiation to get some quick relief before starting the chemo. In June my lung filled with fluid and I had to be hospitalized for 3 days. I had to have the fluid removed twice. It was one of the most painful procedures I've had. In late June my strength finally started to return and I started working some from home and eventually got back into the office. Then in July my blood count dropped and I had to get a blood transfusion, however after coming off radiation and being enemic, the doctor said this is quite common. My strength finally began building and I was able to go to Ocean City for a week. Getting up and down the steps to our condo was quite a challenge. I only got out to the beach one day very briefly, it happened to be one of those extreme hot weeks and my lung just couldn't take the heat. I hated it that I didn't get to enjoy the sand and water, but was thankful for just being able to get away for a week without any medical emergencies.

I had a PET scan once returning from the beach which showed dramatic improvements on the bone lesions and in my liver. It seems that the chemo is doing its job. I just had a chemo treatment yesterday and will have another scan Sept. 6. If this next test shows more improvement I will then start maintenance chemo. Overall, I am feeling better now once the chemo sickness wears off (I have it every 3 weeks). I have not lost my hair, even though I was prepared and bought a wig. I am very lucky. My hip is a little twingy, but no more walker or cane, YAY!!

It's been a rough couple of months, especially May & June. At times I felt like I was never going to come out of it or get my strength back, but little by little, I got better with a lot of prayer and support.

Take care and drop me an email if you get a chance to let me know what you have been up to.

Take care,
Tina
