My Spark Journey

My name says it all: I have to get FIT to be THIN! I pledge to add more FIT to my day... every day!

I started this journey in January of 2011. Then my father passed away the end of February. And low and behold....I fell off the Sparkwagon. For the remainder of the year. I've learned to feel the moment and then go forward. There will be setbacks. There will be disappointments. But above all, there will be determination to get through those moments. Life is a journey. ...

And I embrace all it has to offer.

Now here it is a year later and my 2011 goals fell by the wayside. In fact, I am heavier now than I ever have been! But this is the year that it will all change! I AM 100% committed to MYSELF!

I will visualize a healthier me every day. A person who can flex and bend without any effort. I will convince myself that I am WORTH the time and effort it will take to get there. I will reward myself for every 5lbs lost. I will not allow myself to be defeated with a setback. And I will take it one step at a time....one day at a time. Maybe I will be the slowest loser this year.

I CAN and WILL do this!

My Goals:
Lose 100lbs by 12/31/2014. This may not be realistic, but I am hopeful!

Be able to climb 8 flights of steps without getting short of breath

My Program:
Track nutrition DAILY

Exercise 5 out of 7 days

Drink 8 or more glasses of water DAILY

Eat 4-5 fruits/veggies DAILY

Say something positive to myself DAILY

What I learned this week from Diane Sawyer and the ABC Evening News this week, on successful losers:
1. No cheating
2. Weigh yourself (every day?)
3. Exercise 1 hour/day

Personal Information:
I'm a nurse, mother of 4 grown children and a wife of 30 years. I have two Bullmastiffs who love me unconditionally. And recently adopted a stray Great Pyrenees who is totally devoted to me.

Other Information:
I love to sing and have been a church choir member for over 40 years.

I love to read thick and preferably series novels.

I love gardening, mainly flowers. But I won't rule out trying a vegetable garden.

I play golf...but not very well. My husband and I belong to a local country club. It is nestled in a wooded community and I love to see the wildlife that wander onto the course. Deer, fox, geese (but not their poo!), turtles, etc. It is so relaxing.

Hi Bev
How's it going? I have not been as on top of my sparkfriends' news as I usually am. I hope you are doing well, and look forward to hearing from you.

Take care
