Hi! My name is Sunny. I have been a member of SparkPeople since 2008, but have stopped using the site in the past 2 years and I am updating everything again now. I believe when I started back then I was at about 200lbs. Four years later and my weight has crept up to about 225, although that wasn't the worst of it...
My highest weight was in 2012, my senior year of undergrad college. I was ridiculously busy with school, applying to grad school, working, and a serious internship. I was also depressed for various reasons, and ate to make myself happy, like I have been doing for years. I ended college at a whopping 265lbs on my 5'6" frame.
When I started grad school in Manhattan, my apartment building had a small gym, which I began to use. Between that and watching my food I was able to lose 20lbs that first year. Then in October 2011, I had a total melt down and broke up with my boyfriend of five years, which lost me another 20lbs due to the stress and anxiety I was feeling. 20bs in one month pretty much.
Things finally turned up in late February when we got back together, and just recently, we got engaged! Of course I want to lose weight for the wedding, but more so, because we want to have children, and I want to be healthy for pregnancy, and also, I am scared that if I don't control this now, I will gain so much during pregnancy that I will never be able to live it down (or lose it!)
I'm sick of being the fattest person in my family, the fattest girl in the restaurant the "pretty face." I'm sick of being winded coming up and down stairs, sweating everywhere I go, and feeling tired all the time. I want to shop and be able to find clothes, not just shoes. I want to run. I want to feel good and look good.
Time to make it happen.
1. Quit smoking cigarettes AGAIN
2. Get under 200lbs
3. Ultimately get down to around 145lbs, which would be a loss of roughly 80lbs
4. Run a 5K
I haven't completely gotten there yet...
My diet will consist of a blend of protein shakes, juices, and balanced whole food meals.
I am aiming to do cardio 5 days a week, and S/T 2-3 times.

Welcome back! Congrats on your masters and beautiful ring! I'm kind of in the same boat you are. Used SP for a while, went away from it, started grad school, the pounds creeped up and now it's back to the grindstone. Sounds like you have some good long term goals to work towards but don't forget you're little rewards along the way!
